Selwyn Libraries welcomes Arcus Self-Service across four branches
Selwyn Libraries has completed the rollout of seven new Arcus Self-Service kiosks across its four branch libraries, bringing a fresh new look and enhanced self-service experience to borrowers across the district.
The installation includes six freestanding kiosks and one desktop unit, each finished in a custom white vinyl wrap and featuring a bespoke Arcus interface designed around Selwyn’s new brand identity. The interface incorporates custom promotions and thoughtful use of Te Reo Māori, creating a self-service experience that feels distinctly Selwyn.
The new kiosks also introduce height-adjustable functionality, giving borrowers greater flexibility and accessibility when using self-service. Integrated EFTPOS is provided through sleek new Verifone payment terminals, with receipts printed directly from the kiosk through the Arcus Client for a simple, seamless transaction.
Alongside the kiosks, Adilam supplied two new Arcus Handheld wands, a Micro Workstation that can be used as a mobile staff or self-service station, and 12 Arcus Client licences.
Those Arcus Client licences will also give Selwyn a new lease of life from its existing Bibliotheca staff workstations. Rather than replacing perfectly serviceable hardware, the existing units can now connect into the Arcus platform – extending their useful life while giving staff access to Arcus’ cloud-based architecture and browser-based staff interface.
The project was exceptionally well prepared by the Selwyn team, whose work ahead of installation helped make commissioning across all four branches a smooth process. A big thank you to everyone involved in the project, and particularly to the branch teams for the enthusiasm and energy they brought to this exciting change.
We’re delighted to welcome Selwyn Libraries to Arcus and look forward to supporting the team as they make the most of their new self-service environment.
