Arcus Expands Across City of Sydney
Adilam has completed the latest stage of the City of Sydney’s network-wide Arcus RFID transformation, with successful deployments at Town Hall House, Waterloo, Newtown and Kings Cross Libraries.
This install phase highlighted the Arcus’ unmatched flexibility and customisability, with each location receiving a solution tailored to its architecture, accessibility requirements and staff workflows.
At Kings Cross, a heritage-listed site, new Arcus security gates were installed without compromising the character of the building. The gates sit directly on the floor and are supported by custom accessible cable conduits.
At Newtown, Adilam designed and supplied a one-of-a-kind set of Arcus Live Return Shelves to suit the branch’s distinctive architecture. The compact three-shelf system is tucked neatly under the window sill, providing a clean, practical and highly customised returns solution.
Waterloo features a custom incline conveyor designed to preserve staff OH&S while maintaining accessible public access. The new return chute has been installed at an accessible height, with the conveyor managing the internal and external height variance by safely delivering returned items into the bin.
And at Town Hall House, the Arcus Smart & Secure Return Chute features a beautiful custom aged brass appearance to match the existing joinery.
Across all four locations, staff have responded enthusiastically to the speed, responsiveness and adaptability of Arcus. The deployments continue to demonstrate how Arcus can support both high-performance RFID workflows and highly specific branch requirements, from heritage constraints to accessibility and back-of-house safety.
This latest rollout builds on the successful earlier deployments across the City of Sydney network and reflects the ongoing collaboration between Adilam and City of Sydney. Together, the teams continue to refine the borrower experience, improve staff workflows and deliver a modern, flexible RFID environment across one of Australia’s most prominent public library networks.
Congratulations and thanks to the City of Sydney project team for continuing to partner with Adilam on a thoughtful, ambitious and future-focused RFID transformation.
