SIMPLE AND SLEEK
Arcus Basic Return Chute
Basic Return Chutes are simple, uncomplicated, and attractive returns options, typically installed internally. They are not RFID-enabled or automatically lockable and do not require power or data connections. Basic Return Chutes can deliver items to ordinary spring-loaded bins, Arcus Self-Leveling Bins, or directly on to automatic sorting machine solutions.
INSTANT ITEM DISCHARGE
Arcus Smart Return Chute
Arcus Smart Return Chutes include an embedded RFID tag reader connected to your LMS/ILS, and require a power and data connection. These Chutes automatically capture and discharge library items at the moment of return.
STRONG AND SAFE
Arcus Secure Return Chute
Arcus Secure Return Chutes include a small RFID tag reader and an optical barcode scanner, and require a power and data connection. The Chute is locked by default to discourage and limit non-library material being deposited. The chute flap that will only open to allow items to be returned when a valid RFID tag or item or member barcode is detected.

Combine Smart & Secure features for the most efficient, useful, seamless, and enjoyable returns solution. These chutes allow for highly configurable returns experiences for your members and staff. Chutes can be locked or unlocked in combination and on schedules, and all items are automatically discharged at the moment of return. LEDs guide users when to return items, and when chutes are full/locked.
TAKE IT OUTSIDE
Arcus External Lockable Return Chute
If you require a returns solution away from your main library branch locations, potentially even fully outdoors, our External Lockable Return Chutes are a market-leading product. These Chutes are fully fire suppressant and will only open with a valid RFID or item or member barcode. The Arcus Self-Leveling Bin inside can alert staff when it is arbitrarily full.

Every Arcus Return Chute can optionally be supplied with an instructional Braille faceplate. This panel sits neatly on the incline, and includes Braille text: “Place Items Here”, helping visually impaired borrowers return their items with confidence.

Enhance the operation of your Chute by pairing it with an Arcus Self-Leveling Bin. This clever item transport monitors its fullness level, and alerts staff when arbitrarily full. Focus your staff’s attention on frontline customer service – the Bin will let them know when it’s time to be emptied!
Coordinated Behaviours
If you have multiple Arcus Secure Chutes, they can be configured to act in close coordination. Is one Chute full? It will lock automatically. Are all Chutes full? Decide whether they all lock or all unlock – it’s up to you.
