Porirua Refreshes Its Arcus Self-Service Experience

Adilam has completed the installation and commissioning of three new Arcus Self-Service Kiosks for Porirua City Libraries.

The deployment includes two freestanding kiosks at Porirua Library and one freestanding kiosk at Whitby Library, replacing the previous generation of Arcus Kiosks. All stations feature a standard black vinyl finish and are configured to provide a consistent, reliable self-service experience across both locations.

While the hardware is standardised, each location has its own customised Arcus interface. Using Arcus’ flexible CSS styling capability, Porirua and Whitby each have a distinct look and feel that aligns with Porirua City Council’s brand guidelines while communicating local services and information relevant to users at each branch.

Members of the Adilam team visited Porirua to build, commission, test and train library staff on the new kiosks, ensuring a smooth transition and that staff were confident operating and supporting the new devices from day one.

Arcus Self-Service provides a mature, high-performance platform with clear benefits for both users and library teams:

  • A fast, intuitive borrowing and returns experience for library members

  • A bespoke interface that reflects local branding and branch identity

  • Centralised configuration, allowing updates and improvements to be applied quickly across the network

The result is a refreshed self-service environment that supports efficient library operations while maintaining a welcoming, locally tailored experience for Porirua’s library community.
